Carly Margulies - Halfpipe Skier

Carly Margulies, a professional halfpipe skier, first stood on top of the podium for freeskiing in 2015. In 2016, Carly finished 6th at the U.S. Grand Prix and has been a consistent top-10 finisher since then.

Carly was the youngest member selected to be on the U.S. Women's Half Pipe Free Ski Team in 2018. It was the last step for her to qualify to represent the United States in the 2018 Winter Olympics in South Korea.

Unfortunately in her bid for the Olympics, Carly got a knee injury and did not go to South Korea. Being a Moxy Girl means pursuing your dreams despite setbacks and disappointments. She spent several months on rehab and recovery for her knee, and right before she was cleared to return to the snow, she tore her meniscus.

In March she wrote on Instagram, "I am so frustrated and so heart broken. But I always try to see the light in every situation."

Carly isn't sure when she'll be able to get back on the snow, but she still has her eyes set on the 2020 Olympics in Beijing, China. We totally believe in her.

What is Carly's advice for other Moxy Girls?

Let it run.

Thanks for being a Moxy Girl, Carly!
